The Charlotte Pipe PVC 02100 3600HA is a white PVC reducing coupling designed to connect pipe of two different diameters within a pressurized system. It transitions from a 1-inch pipe to a 3/4-inch pipe using slip-by-slip socket ends, allowing for a solvent-welded joint on both sides. This fitting is manufactured to meet ASTM D 2466 requirements, making it a code-compliant choice for PVC Schedule 40 applications. Plumbers, irrigation contractors, and sprinkler system installers typically specify this coupling when reducing or increasing pipe size along a run without introducing threaded connections. The white finish is standard for Schedule 40 PVC fittings used in non-pressure-rated buried and above-ground service.
This reducing coupling is primarily used in residential and light commercial sprinkler and irrigation systems where a change in line size is required between supply mains and branch lines. Depressurize and drain the line completely before cutting into an existing system. Apply PVC primer to both the pipe ends and the fitting sockets before applying solvent cement, and allow adequate cure time before restoring pressure. Do not use this fitting with CPVC pipe or fittings, as solvent cement chemistry and dimensional tolerances differ.
