The Charlotte Pipe PVC 00601 1200HA is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing wye fitting designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems. This fitting transitions a 3-inch main line to a 1-1/2-inch branch line, allowing two flow paths to merge into a single drainage run. The wye geometry produces a low-turbulence flow angle suited to horizontal-to-horizontal and horizontal-to-vertical drain configurations. Licensed plumbers install this fitting in residential and light commercial rough-in work where code-compliant DWV assemblies are required. The Schedule 40 PVC construction meets standard load and pressure ratings for gravity-flow drain systems.
This reducing wye is used in new construction and remodel plumbing where a 3-inch main drain must accept a 1-1/2-inch branch from a sink, laundry standpipe, or similar fixture drain. It is suited to below-slab, in-wall, and exposed drain runs in residential buildings and light commercial applications. This fitting is sold in packages of 15 units, making it practical for production plumbing crews running multiple fixtures off a common stack or horizontal drain line.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-installation fitting for Schedule 40 PVC DWV piping systems using 3-inch main line and 1-1/2-inch branch connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local amendments. Shut off water supply and verify the drain line is clear and dry before solvent-cementing. Use a PVC primer and Schedule 40-rated PVC solvent cement applied per the cement manufacturer's instructions; allow full cure time before returning the line to service. Inspect the fitting alignment before cement sets, as PVC solvent joints are permanent once cured.
