The CHARLOTTE PIPE FOUNDRY CO. PVC 00401 1800HA is a reducing Schedule 40 PVC sanitary tee designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) piping systems. It connects a 4-inch main line to a 2-inch branch line, allowing a smaller drain to tie into a larger run without an adapter. The Schedule 40 wall thickness meets standard residential and light commercial plumbing code requirements. Licensed plumbers install this fitting in new construction and remodel work wherever a reducing branch connection is needed in a gravity-flow drain system.
This reducing sanitary tee is used in residential and light commercial DWV systems, typically beneath floor slabs, inside wall cavities, or in crawlspace drain runs. The 4-inch by 2-inch configuration is common where a lavatory, laundry standpipe, or similar 2-inch fixture drain ties into a 4-inch main stack or horizontal drain line. It is sold in a package of 10 units, making it practical for rough-in work requiring multiple fittings on the same job.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 40 PVC DWV piping systems with a 4-inch main line and 2-inch branch connection.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or applicable local plumbing code. Shut off water supply and ensure the drain line is empty and dry before cutting into an existing system. Use approved PVC primer and solvent cement applied per manufacturer instructions for a leak-free joint. Orient the sanitary tee so the branch inlet flows in the direction of drainage — never install a sanitary tee on its back in a horizontal run used for drainage.
