The CHARLOTTE PIPE FOUNDRY CO. PVC 00111 0800HA is a Schedule 40 PVC male pipe thread (MPT) adapter sized at 1-1/2 inches, configured with a spigot inlet and a male iron pipe (MIP) threaded outlet. It is used in drain, waste, and vent (DWV) piping systems to transition between a plain-end PVC pipe and a female-threaded fitting or fixture connection. Plumbers and pipefitters install this adapter in residential and light commercial drain lines where a threaded joint is required at a terminal or branch connection point. The Schedule 40 wall thickness meets standard DWV pressure and flow demands.
This adapter is suited for above-ground DWV applications in residential construction, multifamily housing, and light commercial plumbing. It accepts a spigot-end PVC pipe on the inlet side and provides a male NPT thread on the outlet side, allowing connection to female-threaded valves, cleanouts, trap adapters, or fixture drains. It is sold in a package quantity of 50 units, making it practical for plumbing contractors stocking fittings for rough-in work. Install location is typically at fixture branches, cleanout assemblies, or where a DWV line transitions to a threaded connection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for 1-1/2 inch Schedule 40 PVC DWV piping systems requiring a spigot-to-male-thread transition.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and local authority having jurisdiction requirements. Solvent-cement the spigot end to the plain-end PVC pipe using an appropriate PVC primer and Schedule 40-rated cement before threading the MIP outlet into the mating female-threaded connection. Do not over-torque the threaded joint; use PTFE tape or approved thread sealant on the male threads only. Shut off the water supply and drain the affected lines before beginning any work on an active system.
