The Charlotte Pipe Foundry Co. PVC 08200 2400HA is a Schedule 80 PVC reducer bushing designed to transition from a 1-inch male pipe thread (MPT) to a 3/4-inch female pipe thread (FPT) connection. Molded in gray PVC, this bushing provides a rigid, pressure-rated mechanical connection suited to industrial and commercial plumbing, chemical handling, and irrigation systems. The Schedule 80 wall thickness gives it greater pressure capacity than Schedule 40, making it appropriate where higher working pressures or mechanical stress are expected. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting during new construction, retrofits, and system modifications.
This reducer bushing is used in systems where a 1-inch threaded pipe or valve outlet must step down to accept a 3/4-inch FPT fitting, valve, or instrument. Typical applications include process piping, water distribution, irrigation manifolds, and chemical transfer lines where gray Schedule 80 PVC is specified. The MPT x FPT configuration allows the bushing to thread directly into a female-threaded fitting, tee, or coupling while accepting a smaller male-threaded component on the opposite end. Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Depressurize and drain the system completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly and tighten to hand-tight plus the number of turns recommended by the sealant manufacturer. Do not over-torque PVC threaded fittings, as excess force can crack the fitting body.
