The Charlotte Pipe Foundry Co. PVC 00107 1600HA is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing bushing designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) piping systems. It reduces a 4-inch hub connection down to a 2-inch pipe, allowing plumbers to transition between pipe sizes within a single drain line. The bushing is manufactured from PVC, which resists corrosion and chemical degradation common in drain and waste applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in both new construction and retrofit work where a hub-to-spigot size reduction is required.
This reducing bushing is used in residential and light commercial DWV systems where 4-inch drain lines must connect to 2-inch branch lines. Typical applications include lavatory drains, appliance drains, and venting tie-ins that step down from a main stack or large-diameter horizontal run. The fitting installs with standard solvent cement and primer and conforms to Schedule 40 wall thickness requirements for gravity-flow drain systems.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and new-construction fitting for residential and commercial Schedule 40 PVC DWV piping systems requiring a 4-inch to 2-inch hub reduction.
Installation is performed by a licensed plumber following applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Before installation, shut off water supply and ensure the drain line is clear and dry. Clean and debur both pipe and fitting surfaces, apply an approved PVC primer, then apply solvent cement to both surfaces and seat the fitting immediately with a quarter-turn. Allow adequate cure time before returning the system to service.
