It connects two lengths of pipe while stepping down from a 3-inch hub to a 2-inch hub, allowing a smooth transition between pipe sizes within the same run. This fitting is manufactured from black ABS material and is rated for non-pressure DWV applications only. It is a standard tool for licensed plumbers roughing in residential and light commercial drainage systems where size transitions are required in horizontal or vertical drain lines.
