The CHARLOTTE PIPE 864 is a 2-inch nominal, 5-foot length service-weight cast iron soil pipe with double hub ends, designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) applications. Cast iron construction delivers superior structural strength, long service life, and notable sound-dampening performance compared to plastic alternatives. The double hub configuration allows connection at both ends using compression gaskets or traditional lead and oakum joints. Manufactured to ASTM A74 and CISPI 301 standards, this pipe section is appropriate for both above-grade and below-grade sanitary and storm drainage installations. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers of this product.
The CHARLOTTE PIPE 864 is suited for residential and commercial DWV systems where cast iron is specified or required by code. Typical applications include soil stacks, branch drains, and vent risers in multi-story residential buildings, commercial construction, and institutional facilities. The double hub end configuration is particularly useful in runs where mid-span connections are anticipated. Above-grade and below-grade installation environments are both appropriate for this service-weight pipe section.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for 2-inch service-weight cast iron DWV systems using standard hub-and-spigot or compression gasket fittings conforming to ASTM A74 and CISPI 301.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off water supply and isolate the drain system before cutting into an existing stack or branch line. Double hub joints require either properly seated neoprene compression gaskets or correctly packed lead and oakum; do not mix joint types within a single connection. Due to the weight of cast iron pipe, proper pipe hangers and supports rated for cast iron should be installed at code-required intervals.
