The CHARLOTTE PIPE 817-020 is a 2-inch PVC Schedule 80 45-degree elbow fitting designed for pressure piping systems in commercial and industrial plumbing, irrigation, and chemical handling applications. Schedule 80 PVC offers a thicker wall profile than Schedule 40, providing greater pressure capacity and impact resistance in demanding installations. This fitting connects via socket ends on both sides, allowing solvent-cement bonding to standard 2-inch PVC pipe. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers for this type of fitting in code-governed piping systems.
This elbow is suited for use in above-ground and below-ground pressure piping where a 45-degree change in flow direction is required. Common applications include potable water distribution, chemical transfer lines, industrial process piping, and irrigation mainlines. The gray color is standard for Schedule 80 PVC and helps differentiate it visually from white Schedule 40 fittings on the job site. It is appropriate for both residential and light commercial plumbing systems where Schedule 80 fittings are specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting compatible with 2-inch Schedule 80 PVC piping systems using socket-type solvent-cement connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or local jurisdiction requirements. Shut off and depressurize the piping system fully before cutting into any existing line. Use PVC-rated primer and solvent cement appropriate for Schedule 80 fittings, and allow full cure time before pressurizing the system. Do not use this fitting with threaded connections or adhesives not rated for PVC pressure fittings.
