The CHARLOTTE PIPE 3899 is a 6-inch nominal Schedule 40 PVC socket tee designed for pressurized liquid distribution systems. Injection-molded from white PVC, this fitting delivers a pressure rating of 150 psi and is rated for service up to 140 degrees F. The socket end style allows for solvent-cement joining on all three ports, making installation straightforward for plumbers working on residential and commercial water distribution lines. This fitting is domestically manufactured and meets Schedule 40 and Standard wall-thickness requirements.
This tee is intended for pressurized liquid distribution applications only and is not rated for use with compressed air or gas. It is well suited for main line branch connections in potable water supply, irrigation, and general liquid conveyance systems where a 6-inch branch takeoff is required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters typically install this fitting in new construction and retrofit projects where PVC Schedule 40 pipe is the specified material.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for Schedule 40 PVC pipe systems with 6-inch nominal pipe diameter using solvent-cement socket connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off and depressurize the supply line completely before cutting into an existing system. Use a PVC primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 40 fittings, and allow full cure time before pressurizing the line. This fitting is rated for pressurized liquids only and must not be used with compressed gases.
