The CHARLOTTE PIPE 3620 is a Schedule 40 PVC reducing wye fitting designed for drain, waste, and vent (DWV) systems, as well as sewer and storm drainage applications. Sized at 4 x 4 x 1.5 inches with hub end connections, this fabricated fitting allows a 1.5-inch branch line to tap into a 4-inch main run. It carries a pressure rating of 150 psi and a temperature rating of 140 degrees F, making it well suited for typical residential and light commercial sanitary drainage work. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting as part of below-grade or above-grade drain systems where a branch reduction is needed in the wye configuration.
The 3620 is used in residential and commercial DWV piping systems, sewer lines, and storm drainage runs. Its hub end style accepts standard Schedule 40 PVC pipe for solvent-weld connections. The reducing configuration is commonly installed where a smaller-diameter fixture drain or vent line must intersect a larger main drain line. Domestic manufacture and Schedule 40 construction make this fitting appropriate for installations governed by local plumbing codes requiring rated DWV components.
Designed as an OEM-style DWV fitting compatible with Schedule 40 PVC pipe systems used in sanitary drain, waste, vent, sewer, and storm drainage applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off any upstream flow and ensure the line is depressurized before cutting into an existing run. Use appropriate PVC primer and solvent cement rated for Schedule 40 fittings, and observe required cure times before restoring flow. Do not use this fitting in pressure piping or water supply lines outside its rated DWV service classification.
