The CHARLOTTE PIPE 3274 is a PVC flush bushing, also known as a cleanout adapter, used to reduce a 2-inch spigot connection down to a 1-1/2-inch female NPT threaded port. Built to Schedule 40 standards, it carries a pressure rating of 150 psi and a temperature rating of 140 degrees F, making it a solid choice for drain and waste line applications. The white PVC construction resists corrosion and chemical degradation common in drainage environments. Licensed plumbers install this fitting during new construction and retrofit work where a cleanout access point or pipe reduction is required in a DWV or storm drainage system.
This fitting is intended for sewer and storm drainage applications in both residential and light commercial plumbing systems. The spigot end inserts directly into a 2-inch hub fitting or pipe, while the female NPT threaded end accepts a standard threaded plug or a 1-1/2-inch male-threaded fitting. It is commonly used when transitioning between pipe sizes at a cleanout location or when connecting a threaded branch to a larger smooth-bore drain line. Domestic manufacture supports consistent dimensional tolerances for reliable joint integrity.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for Schedule 40 PVC sewer and storm drainage systems requiring a 2-inch spigot to 1-1/2-inch female NPT reduction at a cleanout or branch transition point.
This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers in accordance with the International Plumbing Code and local authority-having-jurisdiction requirements. Solvent-cement the spigot end into the receiving hub using PVC primer and PVC cement appropriate for drain and waste service — do not use pressure-rated cement in place of DWV-rated cement without verifying suitability. Thread connections at the FNPT end should be wrapped with PTFE tape and tightened to hand-tight plus the appropriate number of turns for NPT threads; do not overtighten PVC threaded joints. Shut off water supply and drain the affected line before beginning any fitting installation or replacement.
