The CGW 59801 is a ceramic fiber abrasive disc engineered for aggressive, fast-cutting grinding applications on ferrous metals. The disc measures 4-1/2 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole and carries a 24-grit ceramic grain for rapid material removal. The ceramic abrasive grain is sharper and harder than standard aluminum oxide, delivering a higher cutting rate per pass. Fabricators, welders, and metal finishing trades use this disc for weld grinding, surface preparation, and heavy stock removal where cycle time and wheel life both matter.
This disc is rated for use on steel and stainless steel, making it a practical choice across fabrication shops, structural steel work, and maintenance grinding tasks. It is optimized for high-power angle grinders and is sold in a box of 25 discs, reducing restocking frequency on busy jobs. The advanced bonding system is designed to maintain grain exposure throughout the life of the disc, sustaining cut rate until the disc is spent rather than glazing early as conventional abrasives often do.
Designed for use on standard 4-1/2-inch angle grinders with a 7/8-inch arbor; suitable for grinding steel and stainless steel in fabrication, welding, and general metalworking applications.
Fiber discs require a matched backing pad rated for the disc diameter before mounting on the grinder spindle. Verify the grinder RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc maximum RPM before use, and confirm the guard is in place per ANSI B7.1 safety requirements. Inspect each disc for cracks or damage before mounting and never use a damaged disc. Always power down and disconnect the tool before changing discs.
