The CGW 48126 is a zirconia resin fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal, stainless steel, and other hard surfaces. Built on a depressed-center design, it mounts to angle grinders and provides a stable, flat grinding profile during use. The disc measures 7 inches in diameter with a 7/8 inch arbor hole and runs at 80 grit, making it well suited for weld blending, surface conditioning, and stock removal where a coarser cut is needed. Zirconia alumina abrasive grain self-sharpens under pressure, extending disc life compared to standard aluminum oxide types. Sold in boxes of 25 discs.
This disc is a practical choice for fabrication shops, structural steel work, and field welding operations where fast cutting and disc durability are priorities. The 80 grit rating targets applications that require noticeable material removal without excessive surface refinement. Metalworkers and welding professionals are the primary installers and users. The depressed-center profile allows the disc to seat flush against a backing pad on a standard right-angle grinder, giving consistent contact across the full disc face.
Designed for use with standard right-angle grinders accepting a 7 inch depressed-center fiber disc with a 7/8 inch arbor. Verify grinder RPM rating meets or exceeds the maximum rated speed of the disc before use.
Fiber discs of this type are installed by metalworkers and fabricators using standard right-angle grinders with a matched backing pad. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing a disc. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and never operate a damaged disc. Follow applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel use, including the use of appropriate eye and face protection.
