The CGW 48125 is a zirconia resin fibre disc engineered for aggressive material removal on metal, stainless steel, and weld joints. The disc measures 7 inches in diameter with a 7/8 inch arbor hole and features a depressed center profile that allows flush grinding near edges and corners. At 60 grit, this disc strikes a balance between fast stock removal and a reasonably smooth finish. The zirconia alumina abrasive grain self-sharpens under pressure, extending disc life compared to standard aluminum oxide alternatives. Each box contains 25 discs, making it practical for shop stocking and job-site use.
This disc is suited for fabrication shops, maintenance welding, and metal prep applications in industrial and commercial environments. The depressed center design seats on angle grinders with a Type 27 fibre disc backup pad. Typical applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, and deburring on mild steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous metals. Licensed fabricators, ironworkers, and maintenance mechanics are the primary installers and users of this disc type.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fibre disc for use with standard Type 27 angle grinder configurations accepting a 7 inch diameter disc with a 7/8 inch arbor.
Installation of fibre discs requires a matched fibre disc backup pad and appropriate guard on the angle grinder. Inspect each disc for cracks or damage before mounting and never operate above the maximum RPM rating marked on the disc. Ensure the workpiece is secured and personal protective equipment including eye and face protection is in use throughout grinding operations. Follow ANSI B7.1 and applicable OSHA standards for abrasive wheel safety.
