The CGW 48111 is a zirconia alumina resin fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal surfaces. Measuring 5 inches in diameter with a 7/8 inch arbor hole, this disc mounts directly to standard angle grinders and disc grinders used in fabrication and maintenance work. The 24-grit abrasive rating makes it well suited for heavy stock removal, weld blending, and surface preparation on steel, stainless steel, and other hard metals. Each box contains 25 discs, making it a practical unit for shop supply and job-site stocking.
This disc is used in industrial, commercial, and trade applications where fast cutting action and disc durability are required. Typical applications include weld seam grinding, deburring, and surface conditioning on structural steel, pipe, and fabricated assemblies. Licensed tradespeople in ironwork, pipefitting, and general metal fabrication regularly rely on fiber discs of this type for preparatory grinding before welding or coating operations.
Designed for use with standard 5-inch angle grinders and disc grinders equipped with a 7/8-inch arbor. Suitable for grinding steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous and hard metals.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by qualified personnel following the grinder manufacturer's instructions and applicable ANSI B11 safety standards. Ensure the grinder is unplugged or the power source is locked out before mounting or removing the disc. Verify that the grinder's rated RPM meets or exceeds the maximum RPM rating of the disc before operation. Always use the appropriate guard and personal protective equipment including eye and face protection when operating grinding equipment.
