The CGW 48102 is a zirconia alumina resin fibre disc engineered for aggressive stock removal on metal, stainless steel, and other hard surfaces. Measuring 4.5 inches in diameter with a 0.875 inch arbor hole, this disc mounts directly to standard angle grinders and disc sanders. The 36-grit zirconia abrasive cuts faster and lasts longer than standard aluminum oxide under heavy grinding loads. Sold in a 25-disc box, the 48102 is a practical choice for fabricators, pipefitters, ironworkers, and maintenance technicians who go through abrasives at a high rate on the job.
Zirconia resin fibre discs in this size and grit range are standard consumables in structural steel fabrication, weld blending, pipe preparation, and surface conditioning work. The 36-grit designation makes the 48102 best suited for initial material removal, weld seam grinding, and rapid leveling of rough surfaces before stepping down to finer grits. The fibre backing provides flexibility to conform slightly to contoured workpieces while maintaining enough rigidity for flat-surface grinding passes.
Designed for use with standard 4.5 inch angle grinders and disc sanders equipped with a 0.875 inch arbor. Suitable for grinding ferrous metals, stainless steel, and other hard materials where a zirconia abrasive is appropriate.
Fibre discs must be mounted with a compatible fibre disc backup pad rated for the grinder speed and disc diameter. Always confirm the grinder RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc RPM rating before operation. Inspect each disc for cracks or damage before mounting and do not use damaged discs. Follow applicable ANSI B7.1 and OSHA abrasive wheel safety guidelines when mounting and operating grinding discs.
