The CGW 42332 is a Type 29 zirconia alumina flap disc designed for aggressive grinding and blending on metal surfaces. Built on a fiberglass backing plate, the disc measures 4-1/2 inches in diameter with a 5/8-11 threaded hub, making it compatible with standard right-angle grinders. The Z3 zirconia grain is self-sharpening, delivering consistent cut rates and extended disc life compared to standard aluminum oxide. At 40 grit, this disc is suited for stock removal, weld grinding, and surface preparation. Each box contains 10 discs. Fabricators, welders, pipefitters, and ironworkers are the primary users of this product.
The CGW 42332 is used in fabrication shops, structural steel work, pipeline work, and general metalworking applications. The Type 29 conical profile increases surface contact at low grinding angles, making it well suited for blending and finishing on flat or slightly contoured workpieces. The 40-grit designation targets heavy material removal, scale removal, and weld seam grinding on mild steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous metals. Sold in boxes of 10, the disc is typically stocked in quantity for production grinding environments.
Designed for use with standard 4-1/2 inch right-angle grinders equipped with a 5/8-11 spindle thread. Suitable for grinding mild steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous metals.
Install and replace flap discs only when the grinder is fully powered off and unplugged or lock-out/tag-out procedures are in place. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before mounting and do not use a damaged disc. Ensure the spindle thread is clean and the disc is seated firmly before operation. Always use the correct guard for the grinder and wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves.
