The CGW 42302 is a Type 27 zirconia alumina flap disc designed for aggressive stock removal on steel and ferrous metals. Built on a poly/cotton backing, the disc balances durability with surface finish. The zirconia alumina grain delivers fast, consistent cut rates, while an active grinding aid keeps operating temperatures low even under moderate pressure. Each disc measures 4-1/2 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole and carries a 40-grit designation for heavy material removal. The 42302 ships in a box of 10 discs.

This flap disc is suited for fabrication shops, structural steel work, weld blending, and heavy-duty surface prep. The T27 flat profile allows flush grinding on flat surfaces and inside corners. The 40-grit rating makes it appropriate for initial weld removal, deburring, and rapid stock removal passes before transitioning to a finer grit. Installation Notes
