The CGW 36232 is a Type 27 depressed center grinding wheel designed for aggressive stock removal on steel and metal surfaces. Built to an A24-N-BF specification, it uses a 24-grit aluminum oxide abrasive bond rated for fast cut performance. The wheel measures 6 inches in diameter with a 0.25-inch thickness and a 5/8-11 arbor hole, making it compatible with standard large-angle grinders. Each box contains 10 wheels. This wheel is a shop staple for fabricators, ironworkers, pipefitters, and welders who need consistent, high-removal grinding on ferrous metals.
The CGW 36232 is suited for grinding steel weld beads, cleaning mill scale, removing slag, and general surface preparation on ferrous metal workpieces. The depressed center profile — Type 27 — allows the wheel to work at a low angle to the workpiece, improving operator control and surface contact across flat and contoured sections. Sold in 10-packs, it fits workflows where wheel turnover is high and consistent cutting performance is required across a full shift.
Designed for use on standard large-angle grinders with a 5/8-11 spindle thread. Intended for grinding steel and other ferrous metals.
Mounting and use of grinding wheels must comply with ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 general industry grinding standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test on vitrified wheels. Power down and disconnect the grinder from the power source before changing wheels. Ensure the wheel guard is properly secured and rated for the wheel diameter before operation.
