The CGW 35642 is a Type 27 depressed center grinding wheel engineered for fast, aggressive stock removal on steel and ferrous metal. The A24-N-BF bond specification designates a coarse 24-grit aluminum oxide abrasive in a vitrified bond rated for general-purpose grinding work. At 7 inches in diameter with a 1/4-inch thickness and a 7/8-inch arbor bore, this wheel fits standard 7-inch angle grinders used across fabrication, welding, and general metal work. Each box contains 25 wheels, making it a practical stock-up unit for shops and field crews that go through abrasives at volume.
This wheel is suited for grinding welds, deburring, and surface conditioning on structural steel, mild steel plate, and ferrous metal fabrications. The depressed center Type 27 profile allows flat and flush grinding at low angles, giving the operator better surface contact and control than a flat Type 1 wheel. It is a staple consumable for ironworkers, pipefitters, welders, and fabrication shops running 7-inch angle grinders on steel construction and repair work.
Designed for use on standard 7-inch angle grinders with a 7/8-inch arbor. Suitable for grinding steel and ferrous metals. Always verify the grinder's maximum rated RPM meets or exceeds the wheel's rated speed before mounting.
Grinding wheels must be installed and operated by personnel familiar with angle grinder safety per ANSI B7.1 standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test when applicable. Power down and disconnect or lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Never exceed the maximum RPM marked on the wheel, and always use the appropriate guard.
