The CERRO FLOW PRODUCTS 1114 is a Type L seamless copper tube rated for a wide range of plumbing, hydronic, and mechanical piping applications. Manufactured to ASTM B88 standards, this tube has a 2-inch nominal size with an outside diameter of 2-1/8 inches, an inside diameter of 1.985 inches, and a wall thickness of 0.07 inches. Each stick is 20 feet long. The seamless construction eliminates longitudinal weld seams, reducing the risk of failure at the joint line. Type L copper is the standard choice for residential and light commercial water distribution, hydronic heating, and refrigeration piping where a heavier wall than Type M is required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters handle installation in both new construction and retrofit work.
Type L copper tube is appropriate for potable water supply lines, hot and cold distribution systems, hydronic radiant and baseboard heating loops, and low-pressure steam service. The 2-inch nominal size fits typical main distribution runs in residential buildings and branch mains in light commercial systems. The blue marking stripe identifies this as Type L in the field, distinguishing it from Type M and Type K without needing to measure wall thickness on every stick.
Designed for use with standard 2-inch copper sweat, press-fit, and mechanical fittings conforming to ASTM B16.22 or ASME B16.18 wrought and cast copper alloy fittings. No specific model or system compatibility was stated by the manufacturer beyond ASTM B88.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with the International Plumbing Code and applicable local codes. Shut off and drain the water supply before cutting into any existing system. Use a pipe cutter or reciprocating saw with a metal blade rated for copper, and ream cut ends before fitting to restore full inside diameter and prevent flow restriction. Soldering, brazing, or approved press-fit methods should follow the fitting manufacturer's instructions and applicable code requirements.
