The CERRO FLOW PRODUCTS 1103 is a Type L seamless copper tube manufactured to ASTM B88 standards, designed for plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical piping systems. With a nominal size of 1-1/2 inches, a 1.505-inch inside diameter, and a 1-5/8-inch outside diameter, this tube offers the mid-range wall thickness characteristic of Type L copper at 0.06 inches. The 20-foot length suits rough-in runs and branch distribution lines without the need for intermediate joints. Licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors specify Type L copper for its balance of pressure capacity and long service life in both above-ground and underground installations.
Type L copper tube is used in residential and light commercial domestic water supply, hydronic heating distribution, refrigeration suction lines, and general mechanical piping. The 1-1/2-inch nominal size is commonly found in main distribution lines, boiler supply and return runs, and larger branch takeoffs in multi-fixture plumbing systems. The seamless construction eliminates longitudinal weld seams, making this tube well suited for systems where consistent wall integrity is required throughout the length of the run. Plumbing contractors, HVAC mechanical installers, and service technicians are the primary installers of this product.
Designed for use with standard 1-1/2-inch copper fittings, valves, and sweat or press connections conforming to Type L copper tube dimensions per ASTM B88.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified mechanical contractor in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the water or fluid system completely before cutting or joining tube sections. Use appropriately rated lead-free solder, flux, and fittings for potable water applications. Support spacing and hanger requirements should follow code-specified intervals for copper tube of this nominal size.
