The CENTURY DRILL TOOL CO INC 95622 is a metric hexagon die designed for hand threading work across a variety of materials. The die cuts a 14mm x 1.5 thread profile and measures 1-7/16 inches across the hex. Constructed from carbon steel, it is suited for routine maintenance and repair work where high-accuracy tolerance threads are not critical. Rethreading damaged or corroded fasteners is a primary application. The hex body design allows use with a standard die stock or, when clearance is tight, with a wrench or socket for added versatility in confined spaces.
This die is appropriate for field maintenance, shop repair, and general mechanical work requiring metric thread restoration or new thread cutting in softer to medium-hardness materials. It is packaged in bulk quantities of six, making it a practical choice for shops that regularly perform rethreading tasks on metric fasteners. The 14mm x 1.5 thread pitch is a common coarse-thread standard found on automotive, industrial, and general equipment fasteners.
Designed for use with hexagon die stock sized to accept a 1-7/16 inch die body. Can also be driven with a standard wrench or socket in space-restricted applications.
Thread cutting dies are typically used by machinists, mechanics, and maintenance technicians. Before rethreading a fastener or part, clean the work area and secure the workpiece. Apply cutting oil to the die and workpiece to reduce friction and extend die life. Do not force the die through damaged material in a single pass — back off periodically to clear chips and reduce the risk of breakage.
