The CENTURY D189 is a shaded-pole, general-purpose fan and blower motor rated at 1/20 HP, 230 volts, and 1500 RPM. Built with a 3.3-inch diameter frame, it features an open air-over (OAO) enclosure with Class B insulation and thermal protection. The motor runs on a single-phase, 60 Hz supply, making it a standard replacement for light-duty fan and blower applications in residential and light commercial HVAC equipment. A licensed HVAC technician or qualified electrician typically handles installation and replacement service on this type of motor.
This motor is suited for residential and light commercial fan and blower assemblies where a compact 3.3-inch diameter, shaded-pole motor is specified. Its air-over enclosure design means it relies on airflow from the connected fan or blower for cooling, so it is intended for use in moving-air applications only. The single-speed, 1500 RPM rating makes it appropriate for constant-speed blower and evaporator fan duty cycles in furnaces, fan coils, and similar equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for residential and light commercial fan and blower assemblies requiring a 3.3-inch diameter shaded-pole motor at 230 volts and 1500 RPM.
Power down and lock out the equipment at the disconnect before removing the existing motor. This motor is rated for air-over duty only — do not install it in an application where the motor body will not receive continuous airflow. Verify shaft rotation direction and lead wiring against the equipment wiring diagram before energizing. Installation should comply with applicable NEC requirements and the equipment manufacturer's service instructions.
