The CENTURY DRILL TOOL CO INC 22327 is a 27/64-inch general purpose drill bit designed for drilling in wood, metal, and plastic. The 135-degree split-point tip is self-centering, eliminating the need for a center punch before drilling. The point penetrates faster with less applied pressure compared to standard 118-degree points and will not walk or wander at the starting surface. Ground flats on the shank provide tight, secure chucking in both keyed and keyless chucks. This bit is suited for tradespeople and knowledgeable DIYers who need a reliable, multi-material drill bit in a commonly used fractional size.
The 22327 is applicable across a wide range of trade and general-purpose drilling tasks. It performs in wood framing and finish work, drilling through sheet metal, conduit plates, and structural steel, as well as in plastic enclosures, junction boxes, and pipe fittings. The 27/64-inch diameter is commonly used for bolt clearance holes and tap-drill applications. This package includes 3 bits, making it practical for job-site use where bit wear or loss is a regular factor.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch drill chucks, both keyed and keyless, and compatible with corded and cordless drills that accept round-shank bits with ground flats.
A licensed or experienced tradesperson should select appropriate drill speed (RPM) for the material being drilled — lower speeds for metal, higher for wood and plastic. Always secure the workpiece before drilling to prevent rotation or movement. Wear appropriate eye protection, as metal and plastic drilling can produce sharp chips. Inspect the bit before each use and replace if the cutting edges show signs of wear or damage.
