The CENTAUR RDF - 193 is a Series 100 AF collet designed to hold workpieces ranging from 43/64 inch to 11/16 inch in diameter. It features an overall diameter of 1.45 inches and an overall length of 2.5 inches. This collet is used in machining and toolholding applications where precise, repeatable gripping of round stock is required. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC setup technicians install this type of collet into compatible collet chucks or collet fixtures to secure bar stock, drill rod, or turned parts during cutting operations.
The RDF - 193 is suited for precision machining environments including job shops, production facilities, and maintenance shops running lathes, mills, or dedicated collet-chuck workholding setups. Its Series 100 AF designation identifies the collet body geometry, allowing direct selection based on machine toolholder compatibility. The 43/64 to 11/16 inch capacity range makes it appropriate for near-11/16-inch round stock and close-tolerance gripping tasks where a standard chuck jaw would introduce too much runout.
Designed for use with Series 100 AF collet chucks and compatible workholding fixtures requiring a collet capacity of 43/64 to 11/16 inch.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Before inserting or removing a collet, the machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out per LOTO procedures. Inspect the collet bore and chuck taper for burrs or debris before seating. Do not exceed the rated maximum collet capacity, as overloading the gripping range can damage the collet and compromise workpiece retention.
