The CENTAUR RDF - 169 is a Series 100 AF collet designed for precision workholding in machining operations. It accepts tool or workpiece shanks ranging from 5/16 inch (minimum) to 21/64 inch (0.3281 inches, maximum), making it suited for close-tolerance gripping across that capacity range. The collet measures 1.45 inches in overall diameter and 2.5 inches in overall length. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this collet into compatible Series 100 AF collet chucks or closers to secure round stock, cutting tools, or workpieces during turning, milling, or grinding operations.
This collet is used in production and toolroom environments where accurate, repeatable workholding is required. The Series 100 AF designation identifies the collet system and closer type, so it must be matched to a compatible Series 100 AF chuck or collet closer. Typical applications include CNC lathes, manual lathes, and milling machines equipped with the appropriate collet nose or adapter. It is sold individually and is appropriate for shops running small-diameter stock or tooling in the 5/16 to 21/64 inch range.
Designed for use with Series 100 AF collet chucks and collet closers that accept this collet series and diameter. Verify chuck compatibility before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with collet chuck systems. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the collet. Ensure the collet bore and chuck nose are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the collet. Do not exceed the stated capacity range, as overloading a collet can damage both the collet and the workpiece.
