The CENTAUR 70016 is a standard single angle collet designed for use with TG100 and PG100 collet systems. It holds workpieces or tooling at a fixed bore size of 0.3281 inches (21/64 inch) with a total indicator runout (TIR) of 0.0005 inches, making it suitable for precision machining applications where concentricity matters. The collet has an overall length of 2.38 inches and a maximum body diameter of 1.38 inches. It is installed by machinists and tool room technicians in CNC and manual machine tool setups that use TG100 or PG100 collet chucks.
This collet is used in machine shop environments where TG100 or PG100 toolholding systems are already in place. Typical applications include milling, drilling, and light grinding operations in both production and job shop settings. The 0.3281-inch bore accommodates round shank tooling and workpieces at the 21/64-inch standard size. It is appropriate for both light-duty production runs and precision one-off work where low TIR is required.
Designed for use with TG100 and PG100 collet chuck systems. Fits toolholders and chucks built to the TG100 and PG100 collet standards.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tool room technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the toolholder must be removed from the machine before seating or removing the collet. Use the correct TG100 or PG100 collet nut and tightening wrench specified for the chuck; do not use improvised tools that could damage the collet taper or nut threads. Inspect the collet bore and taper surface for chips or burrs before assembly to preserve TIR performance.
