The CENTAUR 250-EK501 is an ER25 series collet designed to hold workpieces or cutting tools with a 0.125 inch (1/8 inch) bore diameter. ER-style collets are precision clamping components used in CNC machining centers, milling machines, lathes, and routers to secure drill bits, end mills, taps, and other round-shank tooling. This collet conforms to the ER25 standard collet series, which defines the external taper geometry and clamping range. Machinists and toolroom technicians select ER collets based on shank diameter and collet series to match the spindle or collet chuck in use.
This collet is suited for light to medium machining operations where a 1/8 inch tool shank is required. Typical applications include precision drilling, tapping, and end milling on CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with an ER25-compatible collet chuck. The ER25 series is widely used in both production and job-shop environments across metalworking, woodworking, and composite fabrication.
Designed for use with ER25-series collet chucks. Verify that the collet chuck installed in your spindle is rated for the ER25 taper before installation.
Installation is performed by machining technicians familiar with collet chuck systems. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before removing or installing any collet. Seat the collet fully into the collet nut before threading the nut onto the chuck body, and tighten to the chuck manufacturer's specified torque using an appropriate collet nut wrench. Inspect the collet bore and taper surfaces for chips or debris before each use.
