The CDVALVECDVCD8403 C&DV-CD8403 is a brass economy access valve used in refrigeration and HVAC systems to provide a service port for refrigerant charging, evacuation, and pressure testing. Built with a 1/4-inch male flare access fitting and a 3/16-inch copper tube extension, it includes a CD2245 brass cap and an installed valve core. The all-brass construction provides durable corrosion resistance in refrigerant service environments. HVAC technicians install this fitting during system service or repair to gain access to the refrigerant circuit without cutting or brazing existing line sets.
This access valve is suited for residential and light commercial refrigeration and air conditioning systems. It installs onto copper refrigerant lines and is commonly used when adding a service port to a system that lacks one, or when replacing a damaged Schrader-type access point. The copper tube extension allows the fitting to be brazed directly onto the suction or liquid line at the appropriate service location.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or add-on access fitting for residential and light commercial refrigerant line service applications using standard 1/4-inch flare refrigerant hose connections.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Recover all refrigerant from the system before brazing to avoid releasing refrigerant and to prevent valve core damage from heat. Use silver-alloy brazing rod and protect the valve core with a wet cloth during the brazing process. Ensure the system is pressure-tested and leak-checked after installation before recharging with refrigerant.
