The CDI 401SM is an adjustable torque screwdriver designed for precision fastening applications requiring controlled torque output. It delivers a torque range of 5 to 40 inch-pounds with a clockwise limiting direction, making it well-suited for tasks where over-torquing would damage components or fasteners. The 1/4 inch female hex drive accepts standard hex tips, and the tri-lobular handle provides a secure grip during use. Overall length is 6 inches. Accuracy is rated at plus or minus 6 percent, and the tool conforms to ASME B107.300-2010 and N.I.S.T. standards. It is supplied as a single piece and is not tether capable.
The 401SM fits residential and commercial service work wherever low-torque precision fastening is required. Common applications include HVAC control panel assembly, electrical enclosure work, and light mechanical assembly where sensitive fasteners or circuit board hardware must be tightened to a specific torque value without a standard ratchet.
