The CD Valve C&DV-CD5558 is a braze-on, self-piercing saddle valve designed for use on 5/8-inch copper refrigerant lines. This line tap valve allows a technician to access a sealed refrigerant circuit without cutting the line, making it useful for diagnostic work, refrigerant recovery, or adding a service port to an existing system. The saddle body brazes directly onto the copper tubing for a permanent, leak-resistant connection. It is compatible with all common refrigerants, making it a versatile tool for residential and light commercial HVAC and refrigeration service work.
This saddle valve is intended for use on 5/8-inch OD copper tubing found in refrigerant suction and liquid lines across a wide range of split systems, package units, and refrigeration equipment. HVAC technicians and refrigeration service technicians install this valve when a permanent or semi-permanent line tap access point is needed. The self-piercing needle eliminates the need for a separate tubing punch or line cutter during initial access.
Designed for use on 5/8-inch OD copper refrigerant tubing in residential and light commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. Compatible with all refrigerants as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC or refrigeration technician in accordance with applicable codes and EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations. Braze the saddle body onto the copper tubing using proper brazing technique and an inert purge gas to prevent internal oxidation before piercing the line. Allow the braze joint to cool fully before pressurizing or engaging the piercing needle. Inspect the valve and braze joint for leaks before returning the system to service.
