The CD Valve CDV-CD5050 is a reduced-size thumb-screw flow control valve designed as a core depressor for 1/4-inch nominal male flare access fittings. It allows technicians to depress the Schrader core inside a service port, enabling controlled refrigerant or fluid flow without removing the core entirely. The compact thumb-screw design provides manual flow adjustment in tight spaces. This valve is a standard service tool used in HVAC and refrigeration applications where access fitting control is required during system service or charging procedures.
The CDV-CD5050 is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. It connects to 1/4-inch male flare access fittings commonly found on refrigerant lines, service ports, and system access points. Licensed HVAC technicians and refrigeration mechanics use this fitting during system diagnosis, refrigerant recovery, and charging operations. Its reduced-size profile makes it practical for installations where clearance around service ports is limited.
Designed for use with 1/4-inch nominal male flare access fittings on HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Installation is performed by licensed HVAC or refrigeration technicians. Before attaching to a live system service port, verify system pressure conditions and use appropriate personal protective equipment. Thread the male flare connection hand-tight onto the access fitting before using the thumb-screw to depress the core. Follow applicable EPA Section 608 regulations and industry safe-handling practices when working with refrigerant circuits.
