The CAVAGNA 998LP-41 is a second-stage LP gas pressure regulator with an integrated dielectric union, designed for Type A outdoor LP gas distribution systems. It accepts inlet pressure ranging from 10 to 5 psi from an upstream first-stage regulator and reduces it to a stable 11 inches water column (WC) outlet pressure for direct appliance feed. Rated at 1,400,000 BTU/h, this regulator handles high-capacity commercial and residential LP installations. The built-in dielectric insulation eliminates the need for a separate dielectric union fitting, reducing installation time and the number of potential leak points. Inlet connection is 1/2 inch and outlet is 3/4 inch.
The 998LP-41 is intended for outdoor Type A LP gas installations where a first-stage regulator is already upstream in the system. It is part of the KOSAN+ Guardian regulator series, engineered for all-in-one pressure reduction and dielectric isolation in a single body. Typical applications include multi-appliance LP systems in residential and light commercial settings where high BTU/h capacity and reliable two-stage pressure regulation are required. The regulator must be installed outdoors in the correct mounting position with the vent hole oriented downward. In the standard configuration, the vent hole is delivered in line with the inlet fitting.
Designed for Type A outdoor LP gas installations requiring second-stage pressure regulation. Compatible with systems where a first-stage regulator supplies 10-5 psi inlet pressure. Part of the KOSAN+ Guardian regulator series alongside the Type 988 LP compact regulator family.
Installation must be performed by a licensed gas fitter or plumber in accordance with applicable local codes and NFPA 58 requirements for LP gas systems. Shut off all LP gas supply upstream before beginning any work. The regulator must be mounted outdoors with the vent hole turned downward to prevent moisture ingress; incorrect orientation will void proper operation. Do not install this regulator indoors or in any enclosed space not approved for LP gas service.
