The CAVAGNA 70-1-190-0321 is a two-stage automatic changeover regulator designed for propane gas supply systems. It combines a first-stage automatic changeover unit with a second-stage pressure regulator in a single assembly, designated Type 524 AC. The regulator accepts an inlet pressure range of 25 to 250 PSIG and delivers a consistent outlet pressure of 11 inches water column. Rated at 600,000 BTU/h, it is suited for high-demand propane applications. The body and cover are constructed of Zamak, fittings are brass, and cover screws are stainless steel. Licensed HVAC technicians and plumbers install this regulator in commercial and residential propane distribution systems.
This regulator is used in propane gas piping systems where two cylinders or tanks must be connected with automatic switchover capability. When the primary supply tank is depleted, the regulator automatically switches to the secondary tank without interrupting gas flow. The 1/4 inch inverted flare inlet and 1/2 inch NPT outlet connections make it compatible with standard propane piping configurations. It is appropriate for residential, light commercial, and agricultural settings that require reliable, uninterrupted propane delivery at high flow rates.
Designed for use with propane gas supply systems requiring automatic two-tank changeover and two-stage pressure regulation. Suitable for installations using standard 1/4 inch inverted flare and 1/2 inch NPT propane piping connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified gas technician in accordance with local codes and NFPA 58 requirements for LP-gas systems. Shut off both supply tanks and relieve system pressure before disconnecting any existing regulator. Verify all connections are leak-free using an approved gas leak detection solution before restoring gas flow. Do not overtighten brass fittings, as this can damage threads and cause leaks.
