The CARRIER KCAKC2712ECC is an uncased vertical evaporator coil designed for split-system residential and light commercial HVAC applications. Installed inside the air handler or on top of a furnace in a vertical configuration, this coil absorbs heat from the return air stream and transfers it to the refrigerant circuit, providing cooling to the conditioned space. At 17.5 inches wide, 17 inches tall, and 21 inches deep, it fits a range of standard air handler cabinets. The uncased design allows it to be fitted into an existing casing or cabinet by the installing technician.
This coil is suited for vertical upflow and downflow split-system installations in residential and light commercial settings. The 2 to 5 ton capacity range makes it a versatile option across multiple system sizes. Licensed HVAC technicians select this coil when a job calls for an uncased replacement or new-installation coil that will be housed within a field-supplied or existing cabinet assembly.
Designed as an OEM-style vertical evaporator coil for split-system air conditioning and heat pump applications in the 2 to 5 ton capacity range. Consult the equipment manufacturer documentation or contact your local distributor to confirm fitment with a specific air handler or furnace cabinet.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and manufacturer guidelines. Shut down and lock out the entire system, including electrical and refrigerant circuits, before beginning coil replacement or installation. The uncased coil must be properly seated and sealed within the cabinet to prevent air bypass around the coil face. Refrigerant line connections require EPA Section 608 certification and should be pressure-tested and leak-checked before system startup.
