The CARRIER d030-2920p is a hermetic compressor designed for use in residential and light commercial HVAC systems operating on R454B refrigerant. This OEM replacement compressor runs on 208-230 volts, 60Hz, single-phase power and is built to the same specifications as the original factory-installed unit. Hermetic compressors are fully sealed assemblies where the motor and compressor mechanism share a common housing and refrigerant atmosphere, eliminating external shaft seals. This design reduces leak points and is standard in split-system cooling equipment. Licensed HVAC technicians handle the installation and commissioning of this component.
This compressor is suited for split-system air conditioners and heat pumps that have been charged with R454B, a low-GWP A2L refrigerant used in newer residential and light commercial equipment. It is intended as a direct OEM-style replacement for failed or degraded compressors in existing Carrier systems. Installations requiring R454B must follow applicable refrigerant handling procedures and use equipment rated for A2L refrigerants.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement compressor for Carrier residential and light commercial HVAC systems using R454B refrigerant. Confirm system voltage, refrigerant type, and compressor tonnage rating before installation.
Installation must be performed by an EPA 608-certified HVAC technician with experience handling A2L refrigerants and the appropriate recovery and charging equipment rated for R454B. De-energize the system at the disconnect and discharge capacitors before opening any refrigerant circuits. Follow applicable local codes and manufacturer service bulletins when brazing, evacuating, and recharging the system. Do not reuse compressor oil from a failed unit.
