The CARRIER 40muaaq60xa3 is a 5-ton, multi-position ducted fan coil unit designed for use in heat pump split systems charged with R-410A refrigerant. Rated at 60,000 BTU/h cooling capacity, it operates on 208-230 VAC single-phase, 60 Hz power and is built around an ECM blower motor delivering variable airflow from 1,135 to 1,806 CFM. A factory-installed Electronic Expansion Valve (EEV) handles refrigerant metering, eliminating the need for a separate piston or TXV at installation. The unit ships with a wireless remote controller and includes a 24V interface for third-party thermostat integration. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit as the indoor component of a matched heat pump crossover system.
The 40muaaq60xa3 supports four installation orientations: upflow, downflow, right, and left discharge, making it adaptable to a wide range of residential and light commercial applications. Its aluminum coil construction and Automatic Airflow Technology allow it to maintain static pressure up to 0.8 inches W.G. with less than 2% air leakage. Operating modes include cooling, heating, dry, fan, and auto. Electric heat kits in the EHKMBXXKN series (5 kW to 25 kW) are compatible optional accessories. The unit is ENERGY STAR rated and ETL Listed, and California Proposition 65 requirements apply.
Designed for use in heat pump split systems using R-410A refrigerant. Compatible with select DGAPAXXX Infinity Air Purifiers. Electric heat kit series EHKMBXXKN (5 kW to 25 kW) is supported as an optional field-installed accessory. Uses conventional line set sizes with 3/8-inch OD liquid line (flare) and 7/8-inch OD suction line (flare) connections.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with applicable mechanical codes and the manufacturer installation instructions. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power to the system before handling refrigerant connections or making any electrical terminations. The pre-installed EEV requires a compatible communicating or 24V control interface to operate correctly; verify control wiring before startup. A 3/4-inch condensate drain connection is provided and must be properly trapped and routed per local plumbing code.
