The CARRIER 38mbrcq48aa3 is a single-zone ductless heat pump condensing unit rated at 48,000 BTU/h (4 tons) of cooling capacity and up to 58,000 BTU/h of heating capacity. It operates on 230 VAC single-phase power and uses R-410A refrigerant metered by an electronic expansion valve (EEV). The unit is built around a rotary compressor and a three-speed ECM condenser fan motor rated at 4,500 CFM. SEER2 efficiency ranges from 15.1 to 18.9 and HSPF2 is rated at 11.5, making this unit suitable for year-round climate control in a single-zone application. Licensed HVAC technicians perform installation and commissioning of this equipment.
This condensing unit is designed for residential and light-commercial single-zone ductless split applications. It connects to one fan coil (indoor) unit and is part of the 38MBRC product family. With a heating capacity of 30,200 BTU/h at 5 degrees F ambient, it maintains output in cold-climate conditions. Maximum piping length is 213 inches and maximum piping height is 98 inches, providing layout flexibility for varied installation sites. The liquid line connection is a 3/8-inch flare and the suction line is a 5/8-inch flare.
Designed for single-zone ductless split systems within the 38MBRC product family, connecting to one compatible indoor fan coil unit. OPT code reference: 1P38MBRCQ36AA3.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local mechanical codes and the NEC for electrical connections. Shut off and lock out all power before making or breaking refrigerant, electrical, or control connections. Flare connections should be made with calibrated flaring tools to prevent leaks; do not overtighten. Verify that the disconnect, wiring, and overcurrent protection comply with the maximum overcurrent protection (MOCP) rating of 50 amps before energizing the unit.
