The CARRIER 1192721 is a pressure switch designed for use in forced-air heating and cooling systems. Pressure switches monitor the operation of the inducer motor by sensing negative pressure in the flue or combustion air circuit. When the correct pressure differential is established, the switch closes to allow the control board to proceed with ignition sequencing. This component is a critical safety device that prevents furnace operation if adequate draft is not confirmed. HVAC technicians install and replace this switch as part of standard furnace diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
The 1192721 is suited for residential forced-air gas furnace applications where a manufacturer-original replacement pressure switch is required. It integrates into the furnace control circuit and works in conjunction with the inducer assembly and integrated furnace control board. This switch is appropriate for installations where an exact OEM-specification replacement is needed to restore proper safety interlock function.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement pressure switch for residential gas furnace systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Before servicing, shut off all electrical power to the furnace at the disconnect and set the thermostat to off. Verify that the replacement switch matches the pressure rating and port configuration of the original before connecting. Inspect the pressure tubing for cracks or blockages as part of the replacement procedure, as faulty tubing can cause the new switch to behave identically to the failed one.
