The CARRHILL 710-0075-S4 is a straight transition fitting designed to connect a 0.75-inch male iron pipe thread (MIPT) stainless steel end to a DR-11 polyethylene pipe in water service applications. This fitting bridges the gap between metallic threaded connections and plastic pressure pipe, allowing installers to transition between dissimilar pipe materials without custom fabrication. The stainless steel MIPT end provides corrosion resistance at the threaded joint, while the DR-11 socket end accepts standard dimension ratio 11 polyethylene tubing used in water distribution and service line work. Plumbers and water service technicians rely on this type of fitting for direct-bury and above-grade connections alike.
This fitting is suited for potable water service line installations, irrigation mains, and rural water distribution systems where DR-11 polyethylene pipe transitions to threaded metal fittings, valves, or meters. Typical installations include meter pit connections, pressure tank hookups, and service line entry points into structures. The straight configuration keeps the transition in-line, simplifying layout in tight or confined spaces.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for water service installations using DR-11 polyethylene pipe with a 0.75-inch MIPT stainless steel threaded connection at the mating component.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber in accordance with local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Shut off the water supply and relieve line pressure before cutting into any existing pipe or disassembling threaded connections. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MIPT threads before making up the joint hand-tight and then wrench-tight. Follow the pipe manufacturer's recommendations for DR-11 insert fitting assembly, including proper insert support and clamp or crimp ring torque procedures.
