The CARPENTER PATERSON m132-158x10' is a single-slot strut channel used for structural support and equipment mounting in heavy industrial environments. Manufactured from ASTM 570 steel at 12-gauge thickness, this channel measures 1-5/8 inches wide by 1-5/8 inches tall and runs 10 feet in length. The cross section is produced through progressive cold-working dies and rolls, delivering uniform outside dimensions held to a tolerance of plus or minus 0.015 inches. A column load rating of 1,554 pounds and a beam load rating of 325 pounds at 25,000 PSI make this channel suitable for demanding structural and pipe-support applications. Installation is typically performed by licensed electricians, pipefitters, or mechanical contractors.
This slotted channel is designed for use in power generating stations, petrochemical plants, and general industrial facilities where structural framing, conduit support, pipe hangers, and equipment mounting systems require a reliable, load-rated steel channel. The slotted configuration allows continuous field adjustment during installation without pre-drilling. Channels can be assembled into complex strut systems using standard fittings and hardware. The plain steel finish is compatible with field-applied coatings where corrosion protection is required by site specifications.
Designed for use as a standard single slotted strut channel in industrial structural framing systems including power generating stations, petrochemical plants, and general industrial construction. Compatible with standard strut fittings, nuts, and hardware designed for 1-5/8 inch strut channel systems.
Installation should be performed by qualified mechanical, electrical, or structural tradespeople in accordance with applicable local building codes and project specifications. De-energize and lock out all electrical circuits in the work area before mounting channel near live electrical equipment. Use appropriate fasteners rated for the expected load and verify that anchor points meet the structural requirements for the intended column or beam load application. Cut ends should be deburred and, where required by the environment, treated with a compatible corrosion-resistant coating.
