The CARPENTER PATERSON 1ae-4 is a rod-mount band hanger designed to support non-insulated, stationary pipe lines from above. Fabricated from carbon steel with an electrogalvanized finish, it provides corrosion resistance in standard mechanical and plumbing installations. The lower nut adjusts the pipe line to the proper elevation, and the top nut locks the assembly against loosening caused by vibration. Both nuts are field-supplied and must be tightened securely for correct hanger performance. Rated to 1,250 pounds load capacity and suitable for service up to 140 degrees F, this hanger suits a wide range of commercial and industrial piping applications where dependable overhead pipe support is required.
The 1ae-4 is used in commercial and industrial mechanical piping systems where 4-inch non-insulated pipe lines require overhead, rod-mount support. Typical installations include HVAC hydronic distribution, domestic water, and process piping runs suspended from structural members. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this hanger in conjunction with threaded rod and nuts to achieve precise pipe elevation and secure, vibration-resistant support. The hanger accepts a 1/2-inch mounting rod, making it compatible with standard threaded-rod suspension systems commonly found in commercial mechanical rooms and overhead utility chases.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation band hanger for 4-inch non-insulated, stationary pipe lines using standard 1/2-inch rod-mount suspension systems. Meets Federal Specification A-A-1192A and MSS SP-69.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter. Power down or isolate the piping system before making any connections to the supported line. Field-supply the lower and upper nuts rated for the application load, and tighten the top nut securely to prevent loosening from vibration. Follow applicable local mechanical codes and MSS SP-69 guidelines for hanger spacing, rod sizing, and structural attachment.
