The CARPENTER PATERSON 100-5 is a rod-mount clevis hanger engineered to support non-insulated, stationary pipe lines suspended from above. Fabricated from carbon steel with a black finish, this hanger is rated for loads up to 1430 pounds and temperatures up to 650 degrees F. A built-in design allowance provides approximately 1 inch to 1.5 inches of vertical adjustment after the pipe is set in place. The lower nut adjusts the pipe line to the correct elevation, while the top nut locks the assembly against loosening caused by vibration. Both nuts are field-supplied and must be tightened securely to ensure proper hanger performance. Mechanical and pipefitting contractors install this hanger in commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and hospital piping systems.
This hanger is sized for 5-inch pipe and uses a 5/8-inch diameter rod connection. It is suited for stationary, non-insulated lines in demanding environments where high load ratings and elevated temperature performance are required. Typical applications include process piping, utility distribution, and mechanical room runs in commercial and industrial facilities. The hanger conforms to ASME B31.1, ANSI/MSS SP-58/SP-69 Type 1, AA-1192A Type 1, BSPSS-BS3974, WW-H-171E Type 1, FM, and UL standards, making it appropriate for projects with strict specification requirements.
Designed for use with 5-inch non-insulated, stationary pipe lines in commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and hospital piping applications. Compatible with standard 5/8-inch diameter threaded hanger rod.
Installation is performed by licensed pipefitters or mechanical contractors in accordance with ASME B31.1 and applicable local mechanical codes. Depressurize and isolate the pipe system before installing or adjusting the hanger assembly. Field-supply both the lower adjustment nut and the upper lock nut; the top nut must be tightened securely to prevent vibration-induced loosening. Verify that the supporting structure and threaded rod are rated for the full applied load before placing the pipe.
