The CARMEX KM60I-KIT is a right-hand indexable threading toolholder designed for precision internal threading operations on lathes and turning centers. Built around the KM toolholder style, it accepts 08 IR A60 inserts secured by a screw-clamping method, providing repeatable positioning and rigid insert support. The shank measures 5/8 inch in both width and height, with an overall length of 5 inches. Minimum bore diameter is 0.31 inches, making it suitable for threading smaller internal diameters. Ten inserts are included in the kit, giving technicians immediate cutting capacity out of the box. Machinists and toolroom technicians install and operate this holder on CNC and manual turning equipment.
This toolholder is intended for internal threading applications in production and job-shop environments. The right-hand orientation suits standard bore-entry threading on conventional lathes and CNC turning centers. With a neck diameter of 0.265 inches and a back-of-bar to cutting edge measurement of 0.307 inches, the tool is sized for threading bores beginning at 0.31 inches. The maximum depth of cut reaches 0.70 inches, covering a range of thread depths in typical threading cycles. The center-to-cutting-edge dimension is 0.21 inches, which aids in accurate setup and offset entry at the machine control.
Designed for use with 08 IR A60 indexable threading inserts with a 3/16 inch inscribed circle. Verify insert geometry and thread form match the application requirements before installation.
This toolholder is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC or manual turning equipment. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the toolholder or indexing inserts. Confirm shank bore fit and centerline height alignment before beginning threading cycles. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and running first-pass cuts.
