The 60-degree included angle conforms to Unified National thread standards, and the right-hand cutting orientation suits the majority of internal threading operations. At 0.375 inches inscribed circle and 0.146 inches thick, the 16IR-style insert seats securely in compatible toolholders used on CNC lathes and turning centers.
