The CARMEX 16INRH8NPTMXC/G is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for cutting internal NPT (National Pipe Taper) threads. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with Titanium Nitride (TiN) via a PVD process, this insert delivers consistent thread form and extended tool life in production threading applications. It cuts right-hand internal threads at 8 threads per inch (TPI) and carries a 3/8 inch inscribed circle (IC) with a thickness of 0.146 inches. Machinists and CNC operators use this insert in threading toolholders configured for laydown-style seating on lathes and multi-axis turning centers.
