The CARMEX 16ER12UNBMA is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for right-hand external UN thread cutting at 12 threads per inch (TPI). Finished with a PVD-applied TiAlN coating, it delivers extended tool life across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert features a 3/8-inch inscribed circle (0.3750 inches) and a thickness of 0.1460 inches, with a 60-degree included angle and a 0.0100-inch corner radius. It is sized to the 16ER style and manufactured to a submicron BMA grade, making it well-suited for precision threading operations in production environments.

This insert is used in CNC lathes and turning centers performing external UN-thread operations on a wide variety of materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys.
