The CARMEX 16ER1.0ISOBXC is a solid carbide laydown threading insert designed for external ISO metric thread cutting on CNC lathes and threading machines. It carries a 1.0 mm pitch, a 60-degree included angle, and a 3/8 inch (0.375 inch) inscribed circle. The PVD-applied TiN coating improves wear resistance and edge life across a wide range of workpiece materials. Right-hand cutting geometry makes it suitable for standard external thread profiles. This insert is used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments where repeatable ISO thread form accuracy is required.

The 16ER1.0ISOBXC is suited for external ISO threading operations on turning centers and lathes. Its universal workpiece material rating covers steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous alloys, high-temperature alloys, and aluminum, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Compatibility

Installation Notes

Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the correct torx or clamp screw driver specified for the toolholder to achieve proper seating - do not overtighten. Verify thread form with a calibrated thread gauge after initial cuts before running full production. Disposal of carbide inserts should follow applicable shop waste and recycling protocols.
